DROP A TON Weight Loss Challenge!

It’s time City of Cincinnati.  We are making it our goal to DROP A TON of weight this summer!  Healthy Lifestyles is launching the first ever DROP A TON weight loss challenge which encourages you to lose 5% of your body weight.  The details are simple: Weigh In. Weigh Out. Lose Weight.

What do you get? 

  • Lose 5% of your body weight (that is 10 lbs for a 200 lb person) and you will be rewarded with a $50 Healthy Lifestyles incentive.
  • Lose .1% - 4.99% of your body weight and you will be rewarded with a $10 Healthy Lifestyles incentive.

Details:  The approved program weigh in/weigh out locations will be posted to the website by the middle of May in addition to the program packet.  Participants must weigh in and weight out on the same scale during the approved weeks to be eligible for the incentive.

Note:  If your Body Mass Index is already less than 25.0 you can participate in the Healthy Weight Challenge.  The rules will be similar, but participants who maintain their healthy weight (0 lb weight gain in 12 weeks) will be awarded the $50 incentive.  Details to follow on the Healthy Weight Challenge.

DROP A TON Kick Off Events

Join the Healthy Lifestyles staff and Cincinnati firefighter Sal Fucito to kick off the challenge.   You will hear about Sal's weight loss journey and also grab great recipes and ideas from Healthy Lifestyles.  We will be hosting three events at the end of May and beginning of June at Greater Cincinnati Water Works, Metropolitan Sewer District and Public Services.  For more information, click hereSign up today for the kick off event you would like to attend.

 TriHealth Mammogram Van Visits City Hall - Sign Up for Your Mammogram

Are you due for your yearly mammogram?  If so, sign up for a quick and convenient screening on the TriHealth Mammogram Van.  Appointments will be scheduled on Tuesday, June 10th from 8:30am - 3:30pm and Wednesday, June 11th from 8:30am - 12pm.   Schedule an appointment today by calling 513-569-6565 or going online to (register as a new user).   Appointments will last approximately 20-30 minutes and participants may receive a call 1-3 days prior to the on-site event so insurance information can be processed.

Get On Your Feet!

Join Fleet Feet of Cincinnati for an informational and education class to support you!  Fleet Feet will talk about starting a walking/running program or how to best increase your mileage.  They will provide education on proper shoe fit and can answer your questions about exercise.  This class is for all activity levels.  Information on dates, times and locations will be posted by May 1st and signups will  begin on May 1st as well.

Health Screenings 

    Healthy Lifestyles has visited many locations for onsite health screenings so far this spring, but we aren't finished yet! We will be visiting the following locations in May and June:  
  • Cincinnati Police Department Districts 1- District 5, CIS
  • Emergency Communications
  • Cincinnati Fire Department Engines 3, 17, 20, 31, Longworth Hall
  • One Stop Permit Center      

The information is posted on the health screenings tab on the left side of this website. Registration is required for the screenings! Please contact Healthy Lifestyles if you have any questions regarding the Health Screening.

 Important Reminder

Participants are required to complete the Personal Health Assessment to receive incentive credit for their biometrics.  In addition, to complete the PHA you must have your current biometrics.  

Please do not attempt to complete this assessment unless you have your current biometric results handy (current meaning dated anytime in 2014).  This includes your:

  • Total Cholesterol
  • HDL Cholesterol
  • LDL Cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
  • Glucose
  • Blood Pressure

Participants will be asked to complete the PHA online during 2014. To access the PHA, please click "Log in to Personal Health Assessment" under the Quick Links box (on the right side of this page).
